Group Meeting Reflection 1

Hello blog readers!

Today's post is a bit of a different one because yesterday we had our first group meeting in class. I met up with some of my peers to discuss our ideas and share some feedback and I found it to be extremely beneficial and helped my think deeper into my intentions with my film opening.

We gave each other many suggestions, but some of the most important ones consisted of logistics planning for some scenes in our openings. For example, because some people's ideas are very unique, we helped each other figure out what props, backdrops, and other elements could be used to create their desired effect.

Personally, I like having inspiration from movies or shows I have watched in the past, so I made sure to give my group members some film names that I found had similar themes/plot. For example, one of my group members plans to do a film about a psychopath killer, and I thought that the film "American Psycho" could be a good reference to get some ideas for representation and symbolism.

Overall, I feel like the experience was a great one as I found that I needed to think out and further develop my ideas in order to explain them to my peers. Additionally, they helped me come up with a great idea for my character's costuming, where she starts off wearing neutral, boring clothes and transitions to wear brighter colors to show growth, development, and expression. I was very intrigued by this idea and will definitely find costumes that will allow me to execute it.

Here's a picture we took at the end of our meeting, can't wait for the next one!
