Creating My Camera Shots & Angles Quiz

Hello!

This past Monday (8/25), I was tasked with creating a series of fifteen camera shots that ranged from establishing shots, long shots, middle shots, point of view shots, high angle shots, low angles shots, close up shots, and extreme close up shots to develop a short story. We were required to use inanimate objects as our characters for this particular project. After taking the shots, we had to explain why we chose each shot for the corresponding scene and describe the effect it had on the story.

I wanted to share a bit of my experience. I worked with a partner and together we decided to create a story about a couple (depicted as  black and pink EXPO markers) who were having a date night and attempting to make a pasta dish together. Together, we created a kitchen set out of paper including some pasta noodles, pots, and pans. It took us most of the class period to develop the plot of the story, which ends in a "pasta disaster" followed by a kiss goodnight. Once we had collected out shots, we added them to a PowerPoint presentation with the descriptions corresponding to each shot.

In my opinion, we developed a fun storyline so that it would be unique and interesting. In the future, something I would do differently is use better lighting while taking the shots. Because the room was dark, some of the shots are harder to see than others, depending on how the light was hitting them.

Here is the complete collection of all our shots directly from the presentation:

Hello to whoever is viewing my blog!
